Data-Focused Solution Against Climate Risks from Eureko Sigorta
Eureko Sigorta supports agricultural producers to make more conscious and timely decisions by instantly monitoring climate risks with its meteorological data-based application.
Thanks to the application implemented in Kayseri, producers can manage their production processes more safely and efficiently while being more prepared for changing weather conditions.
Sudden changes in climatic conditions can put the production plans and harvest carried out for a season at risk in a short time. Acting on this fact, Eureko Sigorta has implemented a meteorological data-based application that supports producers' experience in the field with meteorological data, helping them to instantly monitor weather conditions and take the necessary precautions in a timely manner. Within the scope of METOS cooperation, 51 producers producing in an area of approximately 10 kilometers thanks to the meteorology station established in Kovalı Village of Kayseri's Yeşilhisar district; It gained the opportunity to adapt faster to changing conditions by monitoring risks such as frost, hail, precipitation, wind and extreme temperature in real time.
Insurance Company That Considers the Producer
Within the scope of the project implemented in line with Eureko Sigorta's long-term field studies in the region, producers can access simultaneous local meteorological data thanks to the meteorological station established in the center of the village. The combination of manufacturers' field experience and meteorological data supports monitoring weather conditions more closely and making more accurate decisions in production processes. Thanks to the system, producers can also follow data that directly affects agricultural production, such as weather events, vegetative diseases and soil moisture. Thanks to data analysis based on previous years, necessary precautions can be taken with more accurate timing by making use of predictions regarding disease and pest risks, thus contributing to product efficiency.
The application also supports efficient resource use. Thanks to planning made in line with meteorological data, it contributes to saving at least 20-25% in pesticide use and 30-35% in irrigation water consumption. This approach supports more controlled management of production costs and more efficient use of natural resources. At the same time, producers can manage their production processes in a more predictable and controlled manner by supporting their own experiences with meteorological data.
