Creative Workshops for Children at Pera Museum “Colors Reflected in Water”

Pera Museum Learning Programs brings together children with workshops full of art, games and discovery with the Colors Reflected on Water program inspired by the On the Shore of the Water: The Life and Art of Halil Pasha exhibition. The program, which will take place between March 28 and May 23, invites children to think, imagine and produce through water, light, color and landscape with its content for different age groups.

The program, nourished by the visual world of the exhibition, does not limit children's relationship with paintings to just viewing; It enriches it with the processes of observation, experimentation, play and narrative construction. Children sometimes create sea-like surfaces with foam printing, sometimes they discover the movement of paint with spreading and splashing colors; sometimes he reconstructs a puzzle, sometimes he designs a moving ship or a layered landscape. Thus, each workshop turns into a new area of ​​discovery based on the images in the exhibition. 

On the shores of water, color and imagination with the 4-6 age group

Within the scope of the program, workshops prepared for the 4-6 age group, led by the Pera Learning team, invite children to establish a creative relationship with the colors, movements and forms in Halil Pasha's paintings. In the “Pieces of the Puzzle” workshop, children draw and paint flowers on blank puzzle pieces, inspired by the flower paintings in the exhibition; Then, he reassembles his own works by looking at the photographs. “Sea Painting with Foam Print” In his workshop, seascapes are created with a mixture of paint, water and detergent while thinking about the tones of water and the movement of waves. Sea-like prints are being prepared on foam. “Spreading and Bouncing Colors” in the workshop, children create colorful compositions by observing the traces formed on the surface with paints spread under transparent foil. “The Ship is Moving!” workshop also provides space for children to design small moving boats based on the boat and sailboat pictures in the exhibition.

Workshops for the 7–12 age group support children in rethinking the scenes they encounter in the exhibition with different forms of expression. In the workshop "“Exploration Under Water”, conducted by the Pera Learning team, children made cardboard drawings based on water scenes such as the Bosphorus and the Nile River. He creates imaginary underwater worlds with prepared flashlights.The workshop, which will be held under the supervision of Pley Studio, will help you imagine the invisible aspects of landscape paintings and use small windows. It focuses on creating new scenes through. In the workshop "“Sounds of the Bosphorus”, conducted by OyunMu, children listen to the sounds of the Bosphorus and interpret them in terms of color, line and color. transforms it into formats. “Dreams Coming to Life with Augmented Reality” workshop, led by Emre Tanrıverdi, transforms dreamed images from drawing to digital environment. and animates it with WebAR technology.
