New examination and license regulation for insurance intermediaries from SEDDK
SEDDK announced the new examination and licensing regulation for insurance intermediaries. The new system will come into force in mid-2026.
Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK) announced the new examination and licensing regulations for insurance and reinsurance brokers and agencies.
Details of the New Regulation
Within the scope of the new system:
- Technical personnel exam curriculum has been updated
- Digital proficiency exam added
- License renewal period has been extended from 3 years to 5 years
- Online exam option will be offered
Transition Process
A 1-year transition period will be provided for existing license holders. During this period, participation in additional training programs will be sufficient.
Sector Assessment
TSB stated that the new regulation will improve the quality of industry professionals and reinforce consumer confidence.
